Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving-- mine was kinda lousy because I have been sick due to increasing a medicine dosage. Not to mention colds are going around and half my siblings were sick...poor little guys. Food was good though!

Please pray I adjust quickly to the meds because I'm pretty miserable right now.

Deck The Halls!

Now that Thanksgiving is almost here I feel like posting something about my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE HOLIDAY EVER! After a discouraging day Justin and I went out to Target to just walk around, and maybe do some Christmas shopping. I saw this adorable fox in the Christmas aisles and totally fell in love.

Follow Up Appointment For Back

Hey everyone! 

I just had my follow up appointment yesterday to check on my progress since the epidural cortisone injection. For any new readers- I have two herniated discs in my lower back (L4 and L5) 

So far everything looks good and I have a second follow up in three months. I was given a back brace to help protect my back if I have to go out for extended periods/ standing for extended periods. 

Regarding recovery, 40% who receive the epidural experience no pain after treatment and can live without pain, 30% suffer from moderate pain for life while the other 30% suffer from severe pain for life. I hope you will all be in prayer that I can be in the 40%!!! 

Going through all this has been scary as the pain may and can return. It feels like my life will be on hold for the next couple years waiting to see what is going to happen. *sigh*

Connecticut Children's Medical Center Roar Music Video

10-year-old Morgan Platt has always dreamed big. After she was diagnosed with a brain tumor (glioblastoma multiforme) in June of 2011, she decided to fight back and inspire others along the way. Throughout her treatments, Katy Perry's song "Roar" has encouraged her to get back up and fight like a "champion." During one of her appointments at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, she decided to make a music video in hopes it would go viral and raise awareness about her condition and the other types of cancers being treated at Connecticut Children's.

I think this is such an amazing video I just had to share it with you all. These precious kids are going through such terrible and heartbreaking diseases and other health problems, and to see them smile is incredibly precious- and encouraging to me too! Such brave little souls!

Anxiety Strikes Again :(

Hello readers! 

I hope your week has been going fairly well. We got a tiny bit of snow yesterday! How crazy is that??

So I have a prayer request to ask of my dear readers- I have no idea why exactly but my anxiety has been really bad lately. It's exhausting and discouraging. There is just so much on my mind, plus I am dealing with some personal problems. I hate being this anxious. Sometimes I just feel so panicked and I have no clue why.

Ah the joys of a male bunny marking "his" territory-which apparently includes me. He was an angel for three weeks and didn't pee on anything- just to dash my hopes and dreams! Bah!

Back Update

It's been about a week and a half since the shot and I am noticing a big difference with my back! 

I still have very random twinges of pain- but nowhere near what I was dealing with. I am still kinda scared about what will happen once the cortisone wears off...but I guess I will cross that bridge when I get there. 

So, my husband and I went out to a store the other day to do some shopping and halfway through I felt really weird like I was going to pass out. Justin got me a wheelchair and I was able to finish shopping. I literally have almost no energy lately. It is hard for me not to be embarrassed about using the wheelchairs either. 

In other news, my grandparent's anniversary is tomorrow, 51 years of marriage! How exciting!

I started my Christmas preparations and shopping already. I love Christmas time and I really enjoy giving gifts to people so I am having a lot of fun finding just the perfect gift. Grandparents however are proving to be difficult to find gifts for!  Any ideas?? 

Also really looking forward to Thanksgiving- I LOVE Turkey, gravy and just all the awesome fixings!
