Big News!!!!

I finally own an SLR camera!!!!! :)
After months of trying to save up for one, my husband found a Nikon D3100 on sale! It was a great camera and I had almost enough! Justin chipped in and now I have my first SLR!!

So you might be wondering, how is an SLR better than the camera I had before?
Well, if you look at the photos above- the one on the left was taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S3200, and the photo on the right was taken with the Nikon D3100. Can you notice the difference?

Since I just got this new camera only a week ago I haven't had that much to photograph yet, but we did go to a park to try it out! Here are my favorite photos (after editing/enhancements)!!

I REALLY love this photo of these two rock doves, I decided to give the photo a very soft and almost vintage look.

With this photo I went with a more modern pop of colors.

These blossoms really popped with a soft neon and pastel effect

A very soft "spring" look.

This is a Greylag goose!

I spent almost 20 minutes just trying to get a photo of a bird in flight- I soon figured out that it was not easy!! But I DID get one good photo!!

Canadian Geese are VERY common in our state

They are very funny in my opinion

But also very pretty!

Some of the photos I had trouble editing. I am so used to doing ALOT of editing work to get the photos to look semi-decent so I am trying to learn to do less- because they are already pretty good on their own! It's going to take some time, but I think these edits were very good. Do you have any favorites?

A BIG thankyou to everyone who was praying for me to get that SLR- it means the world to me!

God bless,
Rebecca

After years of thinking it was lost....

After years of searching and searching for this photo I ave up long ago assuming it was forever lost.
What you may ask is so special about this grainy photo??

It is from that night when Justin asked to sit with me. The night that started it all!!

I am to the far left, Justin is on the far right. Our first date, even if it was unofficial!!

This photo is poor quality... but it means the world to me. I finally have that photo!!

Long story short, I found it on Justin's old laptop from his freshman year. A friend had taken many photos that year and uploaded on Justin's laptop.

I don't think it is possible for me to ever express what it means to me that I found this!!!!

It's Been A Long Week

Last week was a very long one for me.
Periodically I will have an unbelievable amount of trouble trying to get to sleep at night.
I have even gone for 3 days on 4 hours of sleep in the past just because I couldn't fall asleep. This seems to happen for a few days straight once every few months. The rest of the time I sleep fine.

This past week wasn't as severe as that one time was, but I did have alot of trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep.

Part of the reason I seem unable to fall asleep is because I am worrying.
What am I worrying about?
People, my friends. People I know and love.
I worry about their well being, if they are having a problem or health concern.
I worry, worry worry! I try to pray for them instead of worrying but sometimes it is hard not to worry as I am praying.

Needless to say alot of things good and bad have been happening to people I know and love very recently.
Someone is expecting, excited for this new little one,
someone already had a baby,
someone is praying about a very special person and about possibly courting,

Someone was sick,
someone has a severe injury they are recovering from ,
someone recently lost a loved one,
someone was hiding a bad choice,
someone was dealing with a health problem,
someone has been making very bad choices in their life,
someone is worried about making the right college decision.

All these things that come up in life that we all have at some point. Some is good, some things not-so-good.

Needless to say the not-so-good stuff caused me to worry and not sleep.
Thankfully I have a loving Lord and a loving husband who helped me get through this worry and the depression that came with it.

I am feeling a little better, but very worn out to say the least.

I am hoping for a better week! Thankyou to everyone who prays for me and my husband!!
God bless,

Ankles...

So.... much to my chagrin my ankle has been acting up lately. (for new readers I twisted it badly this past autumn)

We have been wrapping it and putting heat on it. It hasn't hurt for a while so I am thinking that I must have done something to strain it.

At least my Ace Bandage loves me!!! lol.

Also, please pray for my grandpa as he has been in and out of ICU.
Please also pray for my father-in-law as he pulled as muscle in his back VERY badly and has been in severe pain.

Enough sad news though, good news is-
We finally have a car! We have been looking for one since we got married, and this past week the Lord finally led us to the right one! Hooray!
God bless,

The Twisted Ankle

Hi everyone!

My husband and I took our youth group hiking this past weekend, the teens had a great time and the fall foliage was gorgeous.
We spent some time at the castle at the top of the hill we climbed, took some photos and enjoyed seeing the view. It was truly gorgeous and I plan to post photos soon.
However, as we were leaving the castle and preparing for the long hike back down I slipped and managed to twist my ankle, scrape up my leg and hurt my arm.

Justin helped me get down the hill, and it was not fun.

We have been keeping it wrapped and put ice on it. Justin even found me a cane to use! lol
I have been keeping off of it though and trying to let it heal. Justin has been cooking and taking very good care of me. It gets kinda boring though just sitting and keeping my ankle elevated, and it is a little hard to sleep because of the pain.

I am enjoying seeing my Justin's loving care for me, it is so sweet! :)

I would appreciate all your prayers for me to heal! I seem prone to twisting my ankle every once in a while. :(

The Lord has been good, and I am thankful that I didn't break my ankle, I would have never made it back down!!

God bless,
~Rebecca
