My name is Rebecca! I am in my 30s, and married my best friend in 2011.
My aesthetic in life, art and hobbies run between fairy tales to the macabre. I enjoy films, video games, art, photography and my pets.
About my Blogging-
I have been blogging since 2008 and I used to write a very IFB influenced blog called "A Rather Unusual Maiden for God," A few months after I got married I started this blog, Butterfly Days, to record my experiences as a newly wed. I have since left my Independent Fundamentalist Baptist upbringing and am currently reevaluating my beliefs and values as the IFB movement no longer matches the things I find important.

About my Health-
In 2011 I fell while hiking, and badly twisted my left ankle. The injury was incredibly stubborn at healing and it later developed into tendinitis. Due to the ankle's weakness I have re-injured it several times since the initial fall. I have had 12 weeks of physical therapy, doctor visits, an x-ray and an MRI. As of early 2013 I have re-twisted it again but it seems to have somewhat recovered.
In 2012 I was diagnosed with PCOS- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
In 2013 I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease
Hashimoto's is a chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease in which the thyroid gland is attacked by a variety of cell- and antibody-mediated immune processes.
In October of 2013 I was diagnosed with two herniated disks in my lower spine (L4 and L5), I was given an epidural injection to decrease pain.
I was also diagnosed with Depression in the fall of 2013.
I was prescribed an anti-depressant that has helped immensely
In 2016 I was diagnosed with Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome, I had struggled with weekly vomiting since 2015 possibly related to migraines.
I was put on a medication for it which has massively decreased vomiting episodes
In 2017 I learned I was prone to Kidney stones after being hospitalized with severe abdominal pain.
I have since made some dietary changes that have prevented further stones.
In 2018 and the vomiting has decreased but not entirely stopped. I am still taking the migraine medication. I will occasionally experience a 3 day episode of vomiting.
I have not experienced anymore Kidney stones since March of 2017.
