This is a sneak peek at a project I am currently working on. : )
I also should add that I designed the banner above and the flower is my own photography.
Now I want to ask you all a favor!
As part of my project I need your thoughts!
Leave a comment on what Love means to you!
This project will be released before the end of January.
Pin It Now!
This looks great! What a beautiful banner! I can't wait to see the finished project :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteLove . . . what a truly serious project to undertake! A lot of people say love is an emotion, and that is partly true, but I feel that love is far more than just emotion. God is the one I go to for answers like these, so here's His definition of love that I found in Scripture.
Mark 12:30-31, "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."
John 13:34, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
John 15:12, "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
Romans 13:9, "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
1John 3:23, "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment."
1John 4:21, "And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."
2John 1:6, "And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."
Have a blessed time researching love, Rebecca! I hope these thoughts were of benefit to you.
Nothing like an "easy" question to ponder? LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteMy athiest office partner often asks questions like this as I'm about to walk out the door - I don't know if she thinks I have a nice, short answer for everything (I definitely don't!) or if she really doesn't want to talk about things but feels like she "should."
I acutally think this is a great questions and one way more people should ask.
I think love is caring more about another than yourself so that you put their needs above your own.
In marriage it means serving each other and meeting each others needs and putting the other person above yourself (both the husband and the wife).
In a community it means listening and talking and working together to better the community at your own expense (taking time from your schedule to work on a project that helps others, financial sacrifice, really listening to others to find out their needs, etc.).
And I love Alexandra's Bible verses. We tend to forget that Jesus not only walked in the commandments but He served others, ragardless of station, background or ability. His example is the only one we need! Loving your neighbor as yourself is one we've thought of a lot in our household and our church this year. We as human beings tend not to love ourselves very much - so we treat others as judgementally as we judge ourselves rather than letting the love of the Lord flow through us to others. The biggest thing I've learned over the last few years is that God loves and forgives so I just need to let that flow through me rather than trying to do it myself! It's all part of that love He has for us and we just need to allow to show!
Hope that's helpful!
Can't wait to see the finaly project,
Lea
That is quite an undertaking! Alexandera & Lea had such good thoughts and verses. Not sure I have anything worth adding or not, without repeating their thoughts :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat does love mean to me? Love has so many different faces. God - He is the ultimate picture of love and shows amazing love & grace to us. He should be our example in all our relationships. Friends and Family - love is putting another ahead of yourself. It is giving of your time, talents and heart. Spouse - love goes beyond words or actions, it is an intangible connection of two hearts beating as one - understanding and communicating without words.
Yes, love is an emotion, yet it is so much more it is a commitment, a choice & a gift. A commitment to not give up, to love the unlovable, to not stop loving. When you choose to love, you choose to live - to open your heart to others opens it to both heartache and joy.
We can't truly understand God's love until we allow the walls of our heart to come down and not only love others but accept love in return -this I've found sometimes is the most difficult - realizing that you are loved!! By others and most importantly by God.
Btw, I have followed your blog for awhile but this is my first time commenting :-) I enjoy your blog. Keep encouraged.
