Our Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving this year! I was a bit sick the day of Thanksgiving and it later turned to a full fledge stomach bug- but I'm on the mend now!

The two lovebirds! Sarah joined our family for Thanksgiving this year. I am really enjoying getting to know her better. I can't wait until she is officially my sister-in-law! Two months to go :)

Here my adorable brother Caleb is making weird faces at the camera.

Jeremiah was eager and ready for turkey!

Mom and Dad made a delicious meal!

Gathered around the table.

Game time with Justin.
Kitty loves her hugs from Grandpa!
And so does Jeremiah.

The day was a bit lousy because I wasn't feeling well but the time with my family was awesome. I hope I will get to enjoy Christmas this year without dealing with any bugs!

My youngest sister filmed some of our Thanksgiving- check it out! She did a super cute job.

Silent Night

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone I can now safely post Christmas songs right??
Personally once mid November hits I give in and break out the Christmas music. I usually start with Silent Night. It is such a pretty and classic Christmas song. Afterwards I usually will get into the more festive carols.

I have kinda made it a tradition on this blog to post a lot of Christmas music during December and I plan to continue that tradition this year too!

What are your favorite Christmas hymns?
Any favorite Christmas carols?

It is hard for me to pick just one Christmas Hymn but I do love Angels We Have Heard On High and I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.

As far as a favorite Christmas carol, Carol of the Bells is my absolute favorite. It really gets me all excited for the holidays!

Comment your favorite Christmas tunes! I will try to post them :)

No Words....

On August 9, 2014, Brown, an unarmed black 18-year old, was shot and killed by Officer Darren Wilson, who is white.

Yesterday it was announced that Darren Wilson will not be indicted.

A few days ago a 12 year old black little boy was also shot by officers while he was holding a BB gun. He later died.

I have no words to say to be honest. My heart and mind is overcome with horror at this. I normally don't post such serious things on my blog but I can not stay silent as my heart aches.

Lavender Love

The scent of lavender is one of my favorite fragrances. It is a very calming and comforting smell for me. When I was a little girl my mom would give me a lavender scented bath when I was sick. The feeling of being clean and refreshed gave a small respite from whatever illness was plaguing me. Taking a nap after a lavender scented bath was wonderful.

Over the years the smell of lavender became firmly cemented in my mind with being comforted and cared for. The scent is so soothing and calming, and it is wonderful when I am anxious.

My husband recently bought a body wash that is lavender scented and I was in Heaven! Anytime I feel anxious, stressed or just down a warm shower with that body wash can really perk up my mood. I am so glad I have another way to help stave off those panic attacks.

Love, Rebecca

Do you have a favorite scent? Do you have it in a candle or perfume form?
Please share in the comments below! I'd love to hear your stories about which scents are your favorites!

Thank You!

I just wanted to say a great big thank you to all my readers who took the time to write to me. It was so very nice to "meet" some new readers and some older readers who had never commented before. I am glad to hear that I am not as boring as I fear I am!

Having the back injury really takes up a good portion of my time, energy and happiness. It is something I have to constantly work around and it gets very annoying. I try sometimes to just "ignore the pain" and push through but it never fails that I quickly regret that when I can't move for the next three days.

Adjusting to this has been incredibly difficult. I never truly realized how much I took my back muscles and spine for granted. Being extremely careful when you lift or move heavy objects is totally worth it and I hope you all don't ever have to deal with herniated discs. Or any major injury for that matter.

With the back injury comes limitations and after a while I get pretty stumped about what to do with myself during the day. I read, play games, work online but there is still sooooo much time where I just can't do anything else and I have already done all that I can do.

I know someday when I'm busy with kids I will look back on this time in my life and think I was crazy to complain about an excessive amount of free time. It's too bad I can't start saving up some "free time" for the future!

Alright- now I want to hear from my readers:
What are you doing for Thanksgiving this year? Any special family traditions? Please tell me in the comments!

Love, Rebecca

Boring

Hello Readers,

I am finding it harder and harder to post consistently on my blog lately. Partially because my life is extremely boring since I am sick all the time and partially because I don't receive much interaction with you all any more. I miss everyone's lovely comments so much. I am actually genuinely worried that I bored you all so much that my readers are leaving.

I wish I had more interesting things to post about because I really do LOVE blogging! But my life is just boring, boring, boring. I don't do much beyond spending time with my husband or visiting family members. My back has been off again and that severely limits me. Not to mention I had to deal with a kidney stone and an ear infection.

My father-in-law has recently had back surgery and he is slowly on the mend. He has had herniated discs since 2012. We are all praying that this surgery gives him some much needed relief from the pain.

I don't have much else to say right now, I am hoping that I am just in a major writing rut lately and that I will spring back soon.

I would love to hear from my readers though! I miss you all.

Love, Rebecca
