On day three of our honeymoon our ship made port in St John, New Brunswick!
You can always tell you are in Canada when you see a maple leaf on McD's signs!
You can get a "McLobster" there! (we did not)
One of the many beautiful old homes in St John's
St John river. |
Now, where the St John's river meets the Bay of Fundy an interesting phenomenon known as the "Reversing Falls"
The beautiful view of the bay as the whirlpools start.
It would take far too long to go into why the reversing falls are so unique, if you want to learn more look them up online! (after you finish the post of course!!)
Where the bay meets the river.
There are about 327 stairs you have to walk down to reach the bay. It's fine going down.... its the going up that isn't!
Well, I must say we got alot of exercise that day!
A very unique way of photographing this area! This web was huge!
The neat thing about the whirlpools is that they turn clockwise and counter-clockwise.
Technically this is "impossible"
:) Our first kiss was okay....
but this one was far better!!
We rode on "the Big Pink Bus" tour. These are antique buses from London!
They rattled and groaned quite a bit!
We visited a Jewish Museum
This little infant's dress is 112 years old
Checking the map!
Our front row view from inside the bus.
The Labor monument.
Our ship is to the left, another cruise made port that day too. "Enchantment of the Seas"
is on the right.
Hey look its us!
This was the only moose we ever got to see. :(
Our ship!!!
(notice all the fog? keep it in mind this fog it will cause problems later for cruise, made the trip interesting!!)
Living statue man.
Just plain weird!!!
I wasn't entirely enthusiastic but Justin's said
"It will be fun!!!!"
We made one last stop at the falls before we had to be back on the ship.
The highest tides in the world are along this Bay
I like this photo of us alot!
We hoped onto the bus one last time to head back to the ship. This is the upper deck. It was a very INTERESTING ride up here with all the noise and creaking of this bus. I held on for dear life.
Good news is these buses sound old but they were built well.
Back on board looking over at St John once last time.
St John behind us
We spotted where the buses were kept!
(hard to miss big pink buses anyways)
St John River meeting the Atlantic.
We really enjoyed our day.
