Goodbye 2012

I apologize for the music, the content however is worth watching and can be veiwed while muted

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

Wow, what a year 2012 turned out to be.
For me it was a long hard year to be honest. Mostly due to my health problems and my ankle of course.
I was sick alot this year too besides my regular health problems. And of course their was just the usual insanity of life!

For others 2012 changed their lives in good ways, as well as very tragic ones.
We think of our friends who were engaged this year, those who married this year, and the ones who had a newborn join their family this year! I think of my friends who thought they would never have a child after years of trying and how they actually got unexpectedly pregnant this year and their firstborn son joined the world on the 26th of December!

I also think of those who have lost their loved ones this year, I think of the Cretzman family who lost their little girl in a crash. I think of those affected by natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy, I think of those who lost loved ones in the Aurora theater shooting, and the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting....

2012 was a great year...and a not-so-great year.

I know 2013 will be just as nutty, but I just can't shake the feeling that maybe 2013 will be better.

So, my Year in Review?

Well, the good things that happened in 2012-
I launched the Tale of the Four Brides project...
I started The Perfection Deception
We traveled to Myrtle Beach....
We visited Katy and Jason....
We went to like 4 or 5 weddings (I have lost count...)
I worked as a photographer's assistant for the first time....
I went to my first ConnectiCon...
We celebrated our First anniversary...
Justin moved from night shift to day shift....  : D
We got a parakeet.... and then 2 more popped into our family...
My very sick grandfather completely recovered from surgery and is doing excellent!
We got to see Lindsey Stirling live...
I launched JuReam Photography...
My grandparent's 50th anniversary!
I got to see Galina and Haley and their family again!!!

We had an awesome Christmas together!

This will be my second New Year's Eve as Justin's wife! :D
I am so thankful that this time he will be home instead of at work when midnight rolls around!

I won't miss 2012, as it was an insane year!
I am sure 2013 will be just as nutty too...lol- but well shall see!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Christmas Day!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas Day! Ours was quite busy!
We started our day with breakfast and ended up watching Veggie Tales "It's a Meaningful Life" together.

We exchanged our gifts :D

Justin gave me Roller Coaster Tycoon 3... I had wanted them game as a teen and could never find it/afford it. I had mentioned it this summer and he remembered and found it!!! It was SO sweet and thoughtful!!!!
He also gave me a waterbottle set, UNREAL candy, a Disney CD and an iPod Dock

And he gave "us" Skylanders! It's pretty fun!

I gave him a Minecraft t-shirt and other Minecraft stuff plus the complete bookset of Percy Jackson and the Olympians!!

After opening each other's gifts we headed out to my grandparents!

Christmas Dinner and Grandmas!

My sister and I!

Grandma's adorable little tree!

The kids watching Scooby-doo while waiting to open gifts.

Caleb got some Playmobil!

Matthew got some Playmobil!

Kitty even got some Playmobil!
(if you don't know what Playmobil is, it is pretty awesome!!!)

Collin got K'nex!

Grandpa!! <3

Jeremiah got this Sonic plushie...my dad put Jeremiah's glasses on it. :D

Kitty and I

The boys received masks for Christmas. They love Spiderman and Captain America. I think Caleb is the Lizard villain from Spiderman

After Grandma's it was off to my parent's home

We exchanged gifts with my siblings and my parents

My dad loves all things John Deere so we got him a mug and hat!

Collin bought Justin HOT sauce.

My parents gave us a gift certificate to Sight and Sound theater. VERY exciting considering I have never been to Sight and Sound!

My dad loves his hat!
Last year I gave him some chocolate covered cherries that I thought he loved, as I remembered him eating them when I was a kid. Turns out he ate a few and had an allergic reaction last year.
Apparently he is allergic to chocolate and I NEVER KNEW THIS FACT. (If he KNEW he was allergic I don't know what cause him to eat it!!)  Anyways .........  (by the way, I just found out this year that he is allergic to bee stings too!! So if you are allergic to anything PLEASE tell your kids! )

My parent's Christmas tree

Collin setting up his K'nex rollercoaster

Some beautiful frames from my Aunt Pam and Uncle Kurt

My sister made this for me!! She is VERY good at cross-stitch!

Our Christmas celebrations are not over yet.... we are getting together with my paternal grandmother and then we are exchanging gifts with my in-laws on New Years!

So how were your Christmas celebrations?
God bless,
~Rebecca

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at my in-laws. It was a great day of food and games!
And PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aunt Marianne's dog Nina had her puppies just 2 weeks before Christmas. It was exciting to see them as I had never seen or held a puppy this young before! The puppies were sired by a Sharpei, and they have a strong Sherpei look. I am not sure what their mother's mix is.

They were so small and cuddly!!

Five cute little puppies!

Holding one of the puppies!
By the way... Like Justin's shirt? I gave it to him for Christmas! It's a creeper from Minecraft!

We watched a video of the Christmas Play we had on the 23rd.

Christmas gifts from the grandparents

Justin's Grandma and Poppa

Jake and Joe with Grandma and Poppa and their Coca-Cola Ornaments the grandparents gave them.

Later on we played Carcassonne.

I came in 2nd!

All the grandkids chilling upstairs

Justin and I!

Toward the end of the evening it started to snow- the first real snow fall of the year!
So some of the kids and teens went outside to play basketball!

Our Christmas Eve went great!

God bless,

Unusual Christmas "Surprise"

As most of you know, we bought a parakeet this past summer.
We named her Zoey.

Well...something very unusually happened on the 23rd of December this year.
See, Justin was teaching his Sunday School class when a woman walked in with a hug blanket covered object with a large red bow on top. She said "Merry Christmas" and gave this blanket covered thing to my husband.

It was a bird cage with two budgies inside....

So this was kinda unusual, and very unexpected.
We decided we would accept the birds as honestly, she did not want them anymore and she figured who would give them to us.

The only things we know about these two are...
They are quite adorable little birds and very vocal!
A yellow Lutino female, 1 year old, untamed.
A grey-wing pale blue male, somewhere in the age rang of 3-4 years, untamed.

Both of these two can fly a bit, we might clip their wings as they are untamed and cannot fly well. We let the female out and she flew into all the walls, so for their well being it would probably be best. We will also attempt to tame them. We have had no luck with taming Zoey but, well what are we going to lose??

These two are in quarantine for 30 days.

As to names the yellow one is Daisy and the white one is Charlie

God Bless, Rebecca
