During the end of March we packed up all of our belongings and moved to a new apartment
It was weird to see our home slowly become filled with boxes as the walls and shelves became bare
Being in the awkward transition of packing was stressful. Our home wasn't cozy anymore.
We took 2 days to move everything. On Friday we moved all of the furniture and spent Saturday packing the final items and getting the new place livable
It was a blessing to have our family and church friends help us out
We couldn't have done it without them
I was happy though to throw out so much junk and clutter
One of our friends from church setting boxes up
It was weird to see the fridge with no magnets on it!
My husband's aunt was such a big help!
Setting up the dressers in the new bedroom
Our rabbit patiently waiting in a pet crate. We set up his cage as quickly as possible. He did really well during the whole moving process!
Our bedroom has no closet, but this wardrobe came with the new place. We had the difficult task of moving it into the master bedroom from the spare room
Sure enough though it got stuck in the kitchen. This wardrobe is huge so we weren't surprised it got stuck
We moved this gigantic beast into the living room temporarily.
Thanks to blood, sweat, tears and pure determination my husband, his dad and his uncle and cousins were finally able to wrangle the wardrobe into the master bedroom the next day
Inside the wardrobe
Oliver likes to climb into it
The 2nd bedroom is the holding room for all the boxes
Percy all cozy in his cage.
So much stuff to unpack, junk to toss and clutter to clear out.
Our new kitchen has significantly less cabinets than our old apartment's kitchen.
I was thankful we were able to bring my hutch. It gives more storage space.
The stove and fridge.
Our first breakfast in our new place. Pancakes!
Our makeshift table for breakfast
It was pretty good
The livingroom
Oliver was following me everywhere
He was super clingy the first week we moved in but is now back to normal.
So we are officially moved in.
Now to tackle the task of unpacking!
Love, Rebecca
What a cute place with lots of character! Looks like a house rather than an apartment. Maybe some of your health issues will resolve now that you aren't in a basement-level place!
ReplyDeleteYes, our new place is a house that was renovated into a two family home many years ago. It is nice to have more sunlight!
DeleteCongratulations on your new place!
ReplyDeleteTake your time and enjoy the unpacking and making-it-your-own too. :)
Thanks for sharing,
