Hello October,

Hello everyone!

It's finally October and you know what that means? It's fall!
 Break out the apple cider!

I started off this month with a bang by getting sick with a cold a few days ago. I felt the scratchiness in my throat and knew that the cold bug had finally caught up to me. It's been about 5 days since I started feeling sick and I think I'm finally on the mend, I am looking forward to not coughing my brains out soon.

Once I am feeling better I will be able to venture out and hopefully take some photos of the leaves as they change. We get some beautiful colors around here mid October and I can't wait!

In other news I have already begun preparing for Christmas time. I have about 75% of my Christmas shopping done already. I prefer to get it done early so I'm not rushing in December.  I love Christmas and I like to take my time and fully enjoy it. This Christmas Eve will be extra exciting because it will be my nephew's first birthday!

The fall season always makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood. I've been watching old home videos and looking at old photos.

I hope you all have a beautiful October

Love, Rebecca

Eyes of Blue

Look at these stunning blue eyes! Oliver is one handsome cat. I love having him around. So many times I will wake up to find him curled up next to me in the mornings, sometimes he will even snuggle up between Justin and I.

During the day when he isn't sleeping he will follow me around the house and hang out in whichever room I'm currently in. Oliver is notorious for dashing up onto the bed when I'm getting ready to go to sleep and flop belly up right in front of my pillow making it impossible for me to get into bed without moving him first.

Whenever I sit in my rocking chair he usually will jump onto my lap, turn around and put his rear end in my face as he decides to sit on me. *how kind*

Whenever I brush him he HAS to lick my arm. He won't let me brush him unless he gets to "groom" me back. I don't mind it but cat's tongues are like sandpaper!

He is a big sweetheart, always greets us at the door- often purring his hellos. He loves to snuggle, loves being carried and is just one amazing animal. I'm completely sold on the Ragdoll breed and I highly recommend them to people looking for a cat.

Love Rebecca

Jeremiah is 16?!

My "little" brother  just turned 16 years old on the last day of August! I say "little" because he has been taller than me for a couple years now. I have a feeling he might end up being the tallest one in my family.

Caleb photobombing. Just look at that hilarious face!

 Katelyn was taking photos too.

The youngest of my siblings and they are both very close to being preteens.

I remember when this little guy was born! He is growing up so fast.

Katey's hair is so long!

 Silly faces!

Caleb and Matt made an illusion

It looks pretty creepy! It's crazy that some people CAN bend like this no problem! My back hurts just thinking about it!

With the birthday boy!

Justin and I got Jeremiah a book and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl figurine. These figurines make awesome gifts in my opinion. My siblings have asked for Dr. Who themed gifts next year.

Jeremiah requested peanut butter pie for his birthday cake... or should I say birthday pie?

A great big Happy Birthday to my little brother! I can't wait to see what the next year will have in store for you!

Love your big sis, Rebecca

I Got to See Haley!

One of my dear childhood friends visited my state recently and I was able to spend Saturday afternoon with her. I have known her since I was nine years old! Her family moved out-of-state almost 10 years ago.

We spent the time reminiscing about all our childhood memories and antics. Her family had a big old box stuffed with dress up costumes and buckets of Plamobil that I remember digging through. We had so much fun making up stories and using our imaginations. I remember watching Madeline cartoons together and reading I Spy books. I have so many awesome memories!

It was pretty awesome to catch up and talk. We went to a local pet store that has a a ton of fish and one giant 300 gallon tank with large fish. Seeing all the beautiful colors and types of fish was fun.

Our time together was way too short but I loved every minute of it. I think my favorite part was just being able to give her a hug!

Celebrating Our 5th Anniversary- Part 2

For the second half of our anniversary outings we went to Yale Peabody Museum. I haven't been there since 2009 so I was really looking forward to this little trip.

Before you get to the entrance of the museum there is a dinosaur statue!

The museum is celebrating 150 years this year! Look at that beautiful old architecture.

Since it is the 150th anniversary for the museum they had a special exhibit up to show off their history.

Look at this creepy worm...

Reminds me of the Xenomorph in those old "Alien" movies. It's an underwater worm and it is pretty big

A rifle belonging to Buffalo Bill

Various sea life

Butterflies!

I can't imagine how cute these must have looked

Diego and Sid?

I didn't know Dire Wolfs were real. I thought it was fictional.

Various weapons. Pretty neat carving

Justin loves owls so he was pretty excited.

Justin got a kick out of this sarcophagus

"It looks like it's winking!"

A Mummy of a man in his 20s that was probably murdered. There is blunt force trauma to the skull.

.
So that was our trip to Peabody Museum! It was a lot fun and I am looking forward to bringing my future kids there someday!

Thank you for all the kind comments and congrats on our anniversary!
