Our Christmas Eve -2014

On Christmas Eve it is a tradition in my husband's family for everyone to get together at his grandparents' home. There were a lot of little kids this year and I loved playing with them. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Miss Ladybug kept greeting everyone as "Hi Cousin!"
It was very cute! She is almost two and I can't believe how much she has grown!

Justin's Uncle with one of his daughters.

Grandma and Poppa- the cutest little old couple ever!

Miss Ladybug was fascinated with the mirror doors.

I asked her "Where is your nose?" she ran to the mirror and pointed at her reflection's nose.

Playing Ring-Around-the-Rosie.

The older cousins playing Dutch Blitz.

Justin and I!

It was raining on Christmas Eve here and Shadow took a run outside. He was soaked!

Always a puppy at heart.

Leah, Jessica and Abby

My mother-in-law had little snowflakes on her house plants- so cute!

Grandma showing Miss Ladybug the lizards.

She was very fascinated by them!

It was so nice to visit with everyone. Most of Justin's family are out of state so we don't see them very often.

Mike being Mike.

Justin has a Connect 4x4 set and Miss Ladybug loved dumping out the pieces and putting them back in.

Of course the game pieces made fashionable rings too.

Jessica helping!

So many people in such a small room- but it was awesome!

Jessica sharing a moment with Shadow.

So that was my Christmas Eve. My back behaved for the most part, I did end taking a nap and I think that helped prevent too much soreness. Learning to adjust to the back is taking time but I'm getting there!

I will be posting about our Christmas day soon!

Do you have any special traditions for Christmas Eve? Please share in the comments below! I would love to hear about your traditions :)

Happy New Year!

Hello readers! A great big Happy New Years to you all.
I can hardly believe it's 2015...seems like yesterday it was 2007 and I was finishing up high school! Has it really been almost 8 years since then? It seems so long yet so short at the same time.

2014 was a fairly good year for me I would say. I didn't have as much trouble with my depression which is really awesome!! I'm so happy that the medication is actually working. I get my moments once in a while but it is nowhere near how bad and dark I used to get. It is so wonderful to NOT feel constantly worthless, sad and frustrated. I can't describe how nice it is. When my depression was at its worse I was so miserable. It's like a headache that just won't leave. Annoying and painful.

I started off 2015 in a scary way though. One of the windows in our home is open at night to let some fresh air in, and it faces the parking lot of our apartment complex. Well long story short with the cold weather people have been warming up their cars, meaning the exhaust comes pouring into our apartment while we are sleeping apparently. I woke up last Friday with a terrible headache and I couldn't keep my breakfast down. I didn't know why. It wasn't until the next morning I suddenly realized I was reacting to the carbon monoxide that was coming into my home. I do feel stupid for not realizing it sooner... and that window is now staying shut. So I started off this year with quite the adventure...almost getting carbon monoxide poisoning...yay.

I'm ok though now so I hope I don't make anyone worry! Hopefully the rest of 2015 isn't quite as dramatic, dangerous or scary.

I will be posting the photos of our Christmas soon. I took an unintentional break from blogging over the Holidays, but I'm back now!

How was our Christmas and New years?

Once in Royal David's City

Hello everyone! I was able to attend our church's Christmas cantata this year! My back was very sore towards the end but it was nice to be there.

Justin dressed as Caesar. A lady in the church made everyone's costumes and she did a gorgeous job!

The beginning of the Nativity story.

Angels and the shepherds.

Justin as King Herod

The Wise Men with King Herod and later visiting the child Jesus

The children's choir did an awesome job! The little girl in the red dress has the cutest little singing voice.

Justin also sang a solo piece.

The choir sang beautifully.

My in-laws singing with another couple. It is so great to see my father-in-law up and walking. The healing from the back surgery has been going well for him. I am so happy he is well enough to enjoy Christmas celebrations!

I hope you all have a great week as you finish up all the Christmas preparations. May all your cookies turn out perfect, your travels be safe and your Christmas a happy day!

Love, Rebecca
